Unfortunately, I have some very sad news. Andreas Lamm, who founded Kaspersky Lab Germany and was its Managing Director for five years has recently passed away after a long battle with a serious illness.
It goes without saying that all of us who worked with Andreas valued him greatly not only as a highly professional colleague, but also as a wonderful and kind personality. Andreas was extremely competent in his professional dealings, was always ready to support and assist others, possessed self-confidence without a trace of vanity, and had a natural talent for both listening and entrepreneurial strategizing.
Under his pioneering leadership Kaspersky Lab soon became a champion in the German-speaking markets, and he substantially contributed to the development of the company across the whole of Europe. In 2008 he began leading European operations by becoming Managing Director of Kaspersky Lab Europe, achieving fantastic growth in the Western European region. He also greatly contributed to the success of the entire company as one of its board members and shareholders over the last several years.
The death of Andreas sadly came much too early. It is an extremely grievous loss for us, and for some of us - a very personal loss.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends and all those who held Andreas dear to their hearts.
